The Anonymous Gifting Process
- Find a product and add to cart. This is the familiar e-commerce starting point. No account is needed, which lowers the barrier to entry and keeps the sender anonymous from the very first step.
- Provide an email address for order confirmation and proceed with payment. The sender provides their email, which is used for the transaction details and confirmation. This is their only personal information required. The system processes the payment, but the details (like the sender’s name on the credit card or their billing address) are never passed on to the receiver.
- A “Claim Code” is generated after successful payment. This is the core of the ‘anonymous’ Gift my streamer system. The unique code acts as a digital gift voucher. It’s the only thing the sender needs to share with the streamer, and it contains no personal information about the sender.
- Share the “claim” code with your loved one. The sender simply sends the code to the streamer. This can be done via a chat message, an email, or even a note during a live stream. The streamer can then use the code at their convenience.
- The receiver uses the claim code to claim the gift. The streamer enters the code on the website. At this point, they are prompted to provide their delivery address and a phone number for shipping updates. Please note, the receiver’s information is not visible to the sender at all.
- Order is finalized and prepared for shipping. With the receiver’s address now in the system, the order is fulfilled and shipped directly to them. The entire process is seamless and keeps all personal information private.
This multi-step process successfully achieves the desired outcome: the sender can be generous without revealing their identity, and the streamer can receive gifts without their personal information being exposed to the sender. It’s a win-win for privacy and surprise!
